ReplyDeleteHi there, very informative blog :-) I would like to know how to say "my child" affectionately in Tulu...like we say 'beta/beti' in Hindi. This should be applicable to grown-up children too and are there separate terms for son and daughter?
ReplyDeleteYou can call 'baalae' or 'magaa' affectionately anyone whom you think as your children's age regardless of their age or gender. Though both 'baale' or 'magaa' can be used to address anyone regardless of age, 'baale' is used more commonly to address young children.
